But why is having a mount important?
One of the top reasons to have a mount in your frame is to keep the photography or art of the glass. Photographs can begin to stick to the glass over time (especially gloss), meaning the print will eventually become damaged. Depending on the artwork and the medium used, placing art directly onto the glass can damage surface layer of the picture. A mount also allows for proper air circulation and decreases the chance of moisture sticking to the artwork or photos, with artwork being more susceptible, which helps to preserve the piece.
A mount is also great for drawing the viewers eye towards your photographs or artwork, making sure it continues to be a conversation starter.
How long is the turnaround time?
We offer a ‘while you wait’ service for simple designs. But for more complex designs, the turn around time is a couple of hours to a few days, depending on if we need to order in certain products to complete your design. We will give you an estimated turn around time but always keep you in the loop to when they might be finished.
What’s the price?
Because this is a bespoke service, the price depends on the complexity of your design as well as the size. Please contact us with your dimensions and we should be able to give you a rough estimate.
Can you print the picture for me?
Yes! You can either email your file to us or you can pop it to the studio on a memory stick/card. Just let us know what size you’d like, and we’ll cut the mount to suit.
Could you put it all together in a frame too?
Yes, of course we can. We’ll clean the frame of dust before inserting your mount and attaching the photo with acid-free tape. Then we’ll pop on the back and seal it up to prevent any dust from getting inside!
